An utterly unique up-close experience with these remarkable mammals, bottle feeding their favourite treats and getting nose-to-(long)nose with them!
Our giant anteater experience can be booked for yourself, for a loved one, or a friend. An anteater experience would make a funusual gift for any animal lover aged 5 and above!
The giant anteater experience involves going behind the scenes with these lovely snuffly creatures, who love meeting new people and are always enquisitive and curious. You'll learn about and prepare their favourite treats, then feed the anteaters yourself. You'll also get some amazing one-on-one time with your Zoo Keeper who can answer all your anteater questions, as well as a fantastic opportunity to get some anteater photos! Please note anteaters do not enjoy being touched, so we cannot allow participants to touch or hold our anteaters.
Your Giant Anteater Encounter
Your giant anteater experience will begin at 2.30pm and last around 30 to 40 minutes and includes:
- Admission into the zoo for the participant
- Exclusive behind-the-scenes access
- The chance to feed our anteaters
- One-on-one time with a Zoo Keeper
- The opportunity for some close up anteater photography
- An Animal Encounter certificate
- Please note, for safety reasons, our anteaters will remain behind their enclosure mesh during your encounter.
- Please be aware that the anteater encounter takes place behind the scenes in the service area of the enclosure and therefore cannot be viewed from the public side

What's Included
- Entry to the Park is included for the Anteater Experience participant(s).
- Participants under 16 must be accommpanied by an adult who will require a valid day ticket.
- An additional participant can be added if both participants are from the same group or family, and booked at the same time
- Additional (non participating) guests will require a valid day ticket
- Minimum age 5 years, no maximum age!

Gift voucher holders will need to contact us to request a booking form. We regret that we are unable to make provisional bookings or take bookings over the phone.

We strongly advise that anyone taking part in an animal encounter has an up-to-date tetanus vaccination. Tetanus is a serious infection that can be transmitted by animals. Should you wish to take part without up-to-date tetanus immunisation, you will be asked to complete a form to confirm you understand the potential risks involved.
