Black Lemurs
Eulemur macaco
Male black lemurs are all black with striking eyes, whilst females have a brown back, pale belly, and a grey / brown head with long whitish ear tufts.
Black lemurs live in forests in northern Madagascar.
Black lemurs live in mixed groups of between two and fifteen members, with a dominant female in charge of the group. They give birth to one or two babies at a time and these are carried around by their mother for six months.
